- Champions League group stage standings

Atletico Madrid: Are through and must win at Club Brugge to definitely top the group.

Borussia Dortmund: Have qualified and will top the group if they win away to Monaco and Atletico fail to beat Brugge.

Club Brugge: Will drop down to the Europa League next year.

Monaco: Have been eliminated completely.

Barcelona: Have qualified as group winners.

Tottenham: Must match or better Inter Milan's result on Matchday 6 to go through, so victory away to Barcelona would guarantee progress.

Inter Milan: Have to better Tottenham's result on Dec. 11 when they host PSV Eindhoven.

PSV Eindhoven: Have been eliminated from Europe.

Napoli: Will be guaranteed to go through if they avoid defeat at Liverpool on Dec. 11. Would also be sure to go through if PSG lose to Red Star Belgrade. Victory at Anfield also makes top spot certain. Defeat to Liverpool 1-0 or by two goals or more will most likely result in Napoli finishing third as they would need PSG to lose at Red Star.

Paris Saint-Germain: Must win at Red Star to be 100 percent be sure of going through, but it would take Napoli losing 3-4 or higher-scoring one-goal loss at Liverpool for PSG be knocked out with a point on the three-team head to head. PSG can only top the group if they win at Red Star and Napoli fail to beat Liverpool. PSG would also be guaranteed to go through if Liverpool lose to Napoli.

Liverpool: Must beat Napoli 1-0 or by two goals to guarantee going through. If PSG draw or lose at Red Star, any victory would send Liverpool through. If Liverpool beat Napoli by 2-1 or higher-scoring one-goal win, and PSG beat Red Star, Liverpool will finish third.

Red Star Belgrade: Have been eliminated but can still make the Europa League if they win at home to PSG and Liverpool lose to Napoli.

Porto: Have won the group.

Schalke: Have finished as runners-up.

Galatasaray: Are out and need a win at home to Porto on Dec. 11 to confirm Europa League football, though that would also be certain if Lokomotiv Moscow fail win at Schalke.

Lokomotiv Moscow: Must win at Schalke and hope Galatasaray do not get a victory at home to Porto to make the Europa League.

Bayern Munich: Are through and need a point at Ajax to top the group.

Ajax: Have qualified for the round of 16 and will win the group if they beat Bayern Munich at home.

Benfica: Europa League football is confirmed.

AEK Athens: Have been eliminated from Europe completely.

Man City's Guardiola explains Foden omission from starting XI

Pep Guardiola delves into the tactical reasons for leaving Phil Foden out of Man City's starting XI in their 2-2 draw with Lyon.

Manchester City: Are through but need a point at home to Hoffenheim to top the group.

Lyon: Need a point away to Shakhtar Donetsk to make the round of 16. They can also top the group if they win away to Shakhtar Donetsk and City lose to Hoffenheim..

Shakhtar Donetsk: Must win at home to Lyon to go through, while a point would put them into the Europa League.

Hoffenheim: Are out and must win at Man City and hope Shakhtar lose at home to Lyon to make the Europa League.

Real Madrid: Have qualified as group winners.

Roma: Are through in second place.

Viktoria Plzen: Are out of the Champions League but will go through to the Europa League if they match or better CSKA's result on Matchday 6.

CSKA Moscow: Have been eliminated and must better Plzen's result on the last matchday to drop into the Europa League.

Juventus: Have qualified and must win away to Young Boys to be certain of topping the group, though would also get this if Man United failed to win at Vaslencia.

Manchester United: Are though and will top the group if they win away to Valencia and Juve fail to beat Young Boys.

Valencia: Europa League football is assured.

Young Boys: Have been eliminated from Europe.
