Even when they win, they lose. With the 49ers and Raiders winning, the Jets would've had the inside track on the No. 1 overall pick if they had lost to the Bills (based on the strength-of-schedule tiebreaker). But they had to go out and, you know, beat the Bills in dramatic fashion. As a result, they're now at No. 5, according to Tankathon. They dropped two spots on the day.

Sam Darnold describes The Scramble. On an injury note, he said his right foot was "hurting really bad" after a first-quarter injury, but he's confident he will play Saturday against the Texans. An x-ray during the game was negative. Darnold said he would've been done for the day if he had re-strained his foot.

Coach Todd Bowles, commenting for the first time on Darron Lee's four-game suspension for a substance-abuse violation, called it "a great disappointment." He said they had an inking on Thursday, then found out on Friday. "He made a big mistake," Bowles said. "Time will tell whether he'll learn from it or not." Neville Hewitt (seven tackles, 0.5 sack) and Kevin Pierre-Louis (one forced fumble) shared Lee's position.

Jordan Jenkins: We showed up

Jets LB Jordan Jenkins reflected on a much-needed win in Buffalo and took us through the moment that sent him to the sideline to be evaluated for an injury.

LT Kelvin Beachum made a key block on Sam Darnold's scrambling TD pass, decking DT Kyle Williams. "That's an offensive lineman's dream, to have a shot like that," he said. Beachum also said it was a "special moment" for the entire OL, including backups Dakota Dozier and Brent Qvale, to be on the field for Eli McGuire's game-winning TD run.

Robby Anderson described his 7-yard TD catch from Sam Darnold, who scrambled 47 yards before unleashing a laser: "He was going to the right and I had to shake loose and find an area. Dude was holding me, so I had to knock him off from holding me. Thankfully, he found me and he put the ball right where it needed to be and we got six."

Coach Todd Bowles said Sam Darnold "played tough and gritty ... He was smiling and having fun. You like to see him when he's like that." Darnold injured his right foot — same foot that was strained a month ago — but this was a different injury, Bowles said. An in-game X-ray was negative and Darnold was cleared to return.

Entering today, the Jets had a 16% chance to land the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. After beating the Bills, that chance is down to 4%, according to live FPI projections.

Ladies and gentlemen, Sam Darnold. He was brilliant in the fourth quarter, rallying the Jets to an improbable win and snapping a six-game losing streak. He was clutch, making all the big plays. This was the moment they had been waiting for from their young quarterback.

It's a miracle the Jets are down only 17-13 at halftime. They were outgained, 230-68, but their special teams came up big. Again. Andre Roberts' 84-yard kickoff return set up the Jets' first offensive TD in 26 possessions, and they ended the half by blocking a FG for the first time since 2012. The Jets are hanging tough despite key injuries. Can they actually win a road game?

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

The Jets are down two of their top players on offense — RB Isaiah Crowell (foot) and WR Quincy Enunwa (undisclosed), both of whom were taken to the locker room.

So much for the revenge factor. The Jets said they wanted to avenge last month's 41-10 loss to the Bills, but it doesn't look like that will happen. They're an undisciplined mess and trail, 14-3, after one quarter. Killer penalties ... no clue on defense ... no chance on offense. The usual stuff.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

Can it get any worse for the Jets? On the third play from scrimmage, QB Sam Darnold was injured and was taken to the locker room. He was limping as he walked off the field; perhaps he re-injured his right foot, which kept him out four weeks.
