What undrafted free agent could make Lions?

Undrafted rookie receivers Teo Redding and Chris Lacy have made enough plays in minicamp practices to warrant watching when training camp arrives.

The NFL filed a motion to dismiss today in the lawsuit filed by two former Detroit Lions employees alleging discrimination. The league was named along with the Lions as co-defendants in the case. The Lions filed their own motion earlier this week. Hearing is scheduled for August.

Some thoughts after Thursday's Final Lions minicamp practice: -A lot of special teams work getting done, including kick return. Ameer Abdullah was getting reps as a kick returner. -Jamal Agnew suffered a leg injury during practice but appeared to be OK. That said, he wasn't spotted doing much work after he got hurt (no need to push it in the spring). That left Quandre Diggs and Nevin Lawson alternating at nickel. When Diggs dropped into nickel, Miles Killebrew got run at safety (Tavon Wilson is still in a no-contact jersey). -Teo Redding and Chris Lacy both had nice catches against backups Thursday. Lacy caught a really nice deep ball, beating the corner easily, in a team period. -Matthew Stafford looked sharp for most of the day.

Why former starting NFL LB made move to FB

Nick Bellore, a linebacker and special-teamer in his NFL career, has been asked by the Lions to make the switch to fullback a permanent one.

Lions owner Martha Ford took in the full practice Wednesday. Here's some things she saw: -Rookie FB Nick Bawden was injured on a special teams coverage play. He was down several minutes and had athletic trainers looking at his right leg before he walked slowly back to the locker room. -Jake Rudock took No. 2 QB reps and looked good doing so. -Kenny Golladay twice beat Teez Tabor in the end zone. He's again showing good catch radius. -Both Jace Billingsley and Teo Redding had good days — particularly Redding, who caught multiple deep passes. -TJ Jones, Ezekiel Ansah and Tavon Wilson didn't do much in practice again.

Jake Rudock has been wearing a camera on the front of his helmet and a battery pack on the back of his helmet during minicamp (at least he did Tuesday). Matt Patricia said it's one of the many technology things that the Lions are testing out.

Matt Patricia said they have two video boards up so they can get the plays from different views and also have immediate corrections.

Glover Quin explains how he tries to balance family and football after returning to the team for mandatory minicamp.

Ezekiel Ansah was at minicamp Tuesday but didn't do much work during team periods. He spoke after practice and declined to say much about his contract or why he hasn't been doing much during practices. Earlier Tuesday, Matt Patricia said Ansah is working his way back.

Lions coach Matt Patricia on why the team is using less than their allotted 10 OTA days is about building what they are trying to do and weighing how much he wanted the team on the field. Said it depends on the team and that when you get to the point where you've installed what you can install and then it's about getting to training camp healthy.

The Lions have filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed against them by two former video department employees alleging discrimination. The suit was filed earlier this year. The hearing on the request is set for Aug. 10.
