How important is it for the Yankees that Aroldis Chapman is coming off the DL? Consider this. He has 31 saves and two blown saves this season. The rest of the bullpen has blown 13 saves. New York's bullpen also had a 3.98 ERA after he went on the DL about a month ago. Prior to that, that ERA was 3.12.

Way-too-early Yankees-Red Sox playoff preview

The Red Sox have MLB's best record, but all bets are off when it comes to a showdown with the Yankees. Who would have the edge if the two teams meet in October?

Walker wakes Yanks with HR, Boston's AL East bash waits

Neil Walker hit a three-run homer, Zach Britton started a game-ending double play on New York's third try in the ninth inning and the Yankees kept the Boston Red Sox from a bubbly celebration in the Bronx for at least another night with a 3-2 victory...

Judge goes 0-for-4 in return to lineup (1:02)
Stanton strikes out for 200th time (0:18)
Walker crushes 3-run homer (0:30)

With a Neil Walker's seventh-inning home run Tuesday, the Yankees have now tied the single-season MLB record for players with double-digit home runs. They are the fifth team in big-league history (and first since the 2017 Astros) to have 11 players with at least 10 homers in a year. That number doesn't include Andrew McCutchen, who has 19 total homers between his time with the Yankees and Giants. Luke Voit still has time to make it 12 players in double digits, as he has seven homers.

Sutcliffe questions Judge's ability to lead Yankees (1:18)

Maybe we can credit Mother Nature for Aaron Judge's return to the Yankees' lineup tonight. Aaron Boone did not come to the ballpark this morning before the scheduled afternoon game thinking he'd start Judge. But after Judge's sim game that came after rains blew through, his name went into the order.

Aroldis Chapman (knee) still hasn't been activated off the DL following his sim game Monday, but he expects it to happen in the next couple days. He's also happy to have strength back in his knee after resting and rehabbing it during this time away.
