Price earns first 'team win' as postseason starter

Following a span in which his teams went 0-10 in his 10 career postseason starts, David Price pitched just well enough to keep the Red Sox in Sunday's ALCS Game 2 -- which they won -- and was given an ovation by the Fenway Park crowd.

Alex Cora on Chris Sale, who the Red Sox announced was admitted to the hospital due to a stomach illness: "I know they sent a memo or talked about it; actually I was walking into the batting cage and on the TV I saw the tweet by the organization. And he was feeling bad and he's at the hospital. From what I know, it's nothing serious, but obviously whenever you have to go to the hospital you gotta be, quote/unquote, worried. But he should be fine. Hopefully we get news in the upcoming hours and he'll join us in Houston."

Price: This isn't about me, it's about the team (0:36)

Price, Red Sox bounce back, beat Astros 7-5, tie ALCS 1-1

David Price was good enough, the Red Sox bullpen was even better, and Jackie Bradley Jr. delivered a go-ahead, three-run double off the Green Monster on Sunday night to lead Boston to a 7-5 victory over the Houston Astros and tie the AL Championship...

It's never easy in postseason baseball. Alex Bregman nearly ties the game in the ninth inning with a home run off Craig Kimbrel, but Andrew Benintendi hauls in his towering fly ball while standing with his back at the Green Monster. The Red Sox hold on for the 7-5 victory and we head to Houston with the series locked up.

Rick Porcello entering for the Red Sox. Alex Cora used this strategy in Game 1 against the Yankees as Porcello got two outs and Craig Kimbrel the final four. After Kimbrel's very shaky ninth inning in Game 4, however, let's see if Cora still considers him a four-out closer tonight.

David Price gets a nice hand from the Fenway faithful as he exits leaving 2 men on base with 2 outs in the 5th inning. Price will not win his first postseason game as a starter tonight.

Marwin González back out in the bottom of the 4th inning after a rough crash against the Green Monster in the 3rd. González was down for a while as he was checked by the Astros training staff.

It's an old-school Fenway Park game with nine runs and 11 hits through three innings, including a couple of Green Monster doubles. With the Red Sox back in the lead, will be interesting now to see if Nathan Eovaldi or Rick Porcello come into play the next inning or two as a relief option.

And Marwin Gonzalez stuns the Fenway crowd, hitting a 3-2 fastball up in the zone over the Green Monster for a two-out, two-run homer. Price has now allowed 14 home runs in 62.2 innings as a starter in the postseason.
