To make up for a football game that was supposed to be played this season but was canceled, Nebraska will host Akron in 2025, paying the Zips $1.45 million on top of another $650,000.

Nebraska announces that it will pay Akron $650K for the cancelled game in Week 1 of this year. The original agreement called for a payout of $1.17 million if the game was played. Also, the Huskers and Zips will play in Lincoln on Sept. 6, 2025. Hope for nice weather.

Nebraska flipped four-star athlete Wandale Robinson from Kentucky on Wednesday. Robinson noted the stress of recruiting and outside pressure in committing to in-state Kentucky, and that he's now following his heart to Nebraska. Robinson will fit well within Scott Frost's offense and could make an early impact for the Huskers.

Nebraska beats Michigan State 9-6 to win its fourth in the past five games as Iowa awaits on Black Friday. There's some meaningful symmetry for the Huskers to finish at home with a fourth-quarter comeback and defensive stand in the snow — 2 1/2 months after thunderstorms cancelled coach Scott Frost's opener, followed a week later by the inability to finish against Colorado.

Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez is second nationally among freshmen in total offense and has led Nebraska to at least 450 yards in each of its past six games. He says "the trust has grown" between coach Scott Frost and the Huskers' offensive players in this Big Ten season. "As well as our team played," he says of Nebraska's 36-31 loss at Ohio State on Saturday, "I felt like I could have played a lot better."

Tom VanHaaren ESPN Staff Writer

Ohio State sneaks away with a 36-31 win against Nebraska. The Buckeyes had a few bright spots, rushing for 229 yards and scoring three touchdowns on four red zone trips, but penalties, turnovers and defensive mistakes by Ohio State helped keep Nebraska in this game.
