Of all the stories Steve Spurrier recounts about the Florida-Tennessee rivalry, the one of him encountering a Tennessee fan decked out in orange on the beach prior to the 1998 season is right there at the top. Spurrier, wearing his shades, passes the fan and chortles in vintage fashion, "How those mighty Vols gonna be this year?" The fan, unaware that it's Spurrier, holds up his index finger and says confidently, "National champs!" The Vols, after losing five in a row to the Gators, did indeed go on to win the national championship that season. And Spurrier chuckles now, "I'll be damned if he wasn't right."

Remember when the Florida-Tennessee rivalry was one of those early-season matchups that shaped the SEC and national race? The two teams played every year from 1990-2007, and both teams were ranked in the AP Top 25 for all 18 meetings and in the Top 10 for 11 of those 18 meetings. But this Saturday's game marks the third time in the last five years that neither team has been ranked.

No announcement from Scott Frost today on the availability of QB Adrian Martinez this week as the Huskers visit Michigan. Martinez returned to practice on Monday. "Until I hear from our trainers" that he has progressed to the point where his condition does not enhance the likelihood to suffer additional injury, Frost said, "we'd be foolish to play him." It may come down to game day, according to the coach.
